About Austin Fölnagy
RE-ELECT AN EXPERIENCED PUBLIC SERVANT

After 14 years of experience in workforce/economic development and higher education, I am dedicated to strengthening an institution that embodies “the community’s college”. I was first elected during the pandemic and worked with the community to pass policies/budgets that increased access and enrollment despite numerous challenges. As we face increasing uncertainty on the federal level, I will continue to use my experience and knowledge to ensure we keep Lane Community College vibrant and strong for future generations.
Austin Fölnagy believes in the power of community, the potential of every individual, and the positive impact that effective governance can bring to the society.

Main Priorities
SUPPORTING STUDENTS
-
Working to secure funding for comprehensive wrap-around services to support students and their needs, in both a local and statewide capacity.
STUDENT REPRESENTATION
-
Amplifying student voices by giving them a seat at the table; I developed and passed a policy to create a dedicated student position on the Board of Directors, affirming students’ involvement in the important decisions made surrounding their education.
EDUCATION FOR ALL
-
Access to fair and affordable education should not be determined by immigration status, economic standing, work schedule or life-circumstances. I am dedicated to ensuring all students have the support and opportunities necessary to achieve their educational, career and life goals.
CLEAR PATHWAY TO CAREERS
-
Collaborating with local industries in our community to train, mentor, and guide students towards both their educational and vocational ambitions, leading to family-wage jobs that suit Lane County’s workforce needs.
